Manfred Kyber war ein deutscher Schriftsteller, Theaterkritiker und Übersetzer deutsch-baltischer Herkunft. Er war einer der ersten Tierschützer, was auch in seinen Tiergeschichten zum Ausdruck kommt, für die er in erster Linie bekannt geworden ist.

Novelle per un anno è una raccolta di 241 novelle scritte da Luigi Pirandello. Originariamente sono state pubblicate sul Corriere della Sera, successivamente ripubblicate in 15 raccolte. Inizialmente erano previste 24 raccolte contenenti 365 novelle, tuttavia la prematura morte dell’autore ha impedito il raggiungimento del traguardo. Postume sono state pubblicate altre novelle scritte dall’autore. Le raccolte sono state pubblicate tra il 1922 e il 1938. La quattordicesima raccolta è stata pubblicata nel 1934. W tym zbiorze artykułów napisanych do “Tygodnika Literackiego” Tadeusz Boy-Żeleński stawia sobie za cel zdemaskowanie niektórych mitów i usunięcie pewnych białych plam w życiu Adama Mickiewicza i kręgu otaczających go osób. Kim była Ksawera Deybel? Co naprawdę wiemy o Andrzeju Towiańskim? Jak poeta postrzegał Rosję? Żeleński dokonuje tego przy pomocy analizy dokumentów napisanych zarówno przez Mickiewicza jak i innych polskich emigrantów z tamtego okresu mieszkających w Paryżu, Rzymie, Florencji i innych miastach Europy. Dokumenty te, choć znane są nauce, przez dziesięciolecia były przemilczane albo wybiórczo interpretowane, tak aby nie burzyć “pomnika z brązu” jakim, wedle słów Boya, stał się poeta.
W “Brązownikach” Żeleński stawia także ogólne pytania na temat prawdy historycznej i pokazuje z jak różnych powodów można manipulować obrazem historii. (Summary by Piotr Nater)

Fräulein Else

Else T., Tochter eines Wiener Rechtsanwalts, befindet sich für einige Urlaubstage in einem italienischen Kurort. Dort bekommt sie einen Express-Brief ihrer Mutter, in welchem die Bitte an sie herangetragen wird, den reichen Kunsthändler Dorsday um ein dringend benötigtes Darlehen zu bitten, da Elses Vater Mündelgelder veruntreut habe und kurz vor der Verhaftung stehe. Else geht auf Dorsday zu und schildert ihm die schwierige familiäre Lage.

Dorsday willigt zwar ein, die notwendigen 30.000 Gulden zur Verfügung zu stellen, macht als Gegenleistung aber ein unmoralisches Angebot.
