I’ve just re-recorded and uploaded Chapter 71, Three Hours Between Planes ready for PL. I did that because I recorded it on my phone and the sound quality is poorer than the rest. It stuck out like a sore thumb. Should be okay now though.

No worries about redoing 71 - I understand the motivation, that kind of thing gets me to redo stuff, as well, in my recordings.

I was actually wondering if there was going to be a lot more "work," if you intended to hit Book 2 of Firtzgerald's works, so one short section redone was nothing in the feel of workload.

Congrats on finishing this huge tome up on your own!!

Do you have an idea for a (public domain) picture that I should use for the cover?

I think you'll just have to go with the text of title and name. I can't see anything suitable when I looked for public domain images. They were all a bit dark and dull. If you can see something suitable, I'm happy to accept that, thank you.

I’ve dealt with these as best I can:-
a) both files you’ve linked to for Chapter 30, have a length of 38:07 so they are likely to be the same ‘version', and anyway the start & end words are consistent

b) both files you’ve linked to for Chapter 52, have a length of 12:21 so they are likely to be the same ‘version', and anyway the start & end words are consistent

c) both files you’ve linked to for Chapter 66 are different lengths and the notes say (and I remember) there was some superfluous wording in 8:17 ("not for this picture,' Pat muttered. 'Birth of a Nation wouldn't suit this picture.’”) so 8:11 https://upload.legamus.eu/simple/files/ ... gerald.mp3 just has that phrase in it once. When I look back at the text though https://gutenberg.net.au/fsf/PAT-HOBBY.html#c13 it actually has that identical phrase twice, so that’s why I read it twice! However I think there’s a feeling that this might be a quirk of the text. I took out the repetition from the recording. I would think if Fitzgerald wanted Pat to say it twice he might have said 'Pat repeated’? If you disagree I can put the repetition back. I've pasted a link to the 8:11 version into the MW but can change it if you want the repetition put back in.

d) Chapter 9 should now be the only split story (and as you say it’s in 2 parts already).

After splitting the following stories, somewhere in the process after recording I changed my mind about splitting the following stories up, as we felt it took something away from listening to them and didn’t consider them so long that they actually needed splitting up

e) so Chapter 11 should be one part only as in the MW - the MW links to the correct file with length of 57:01

f) the single-file Chapter 13 upload in the MW is the correct file to keep.I rejoined the split files 13_1 and 13_2 uploads. However on listening to this one as part of this ‘examination’, I heard a few bits and pieces that could be improved, so I re-recorded those few tiny bits and I’ve uploaded a new copy, which I don’t think needs proof listening. I added the URL to the MW

h) the single-file 34 upload in the MW (is more recent than the split 34_1 and 34_2 uploads and) is preferred - not sure if there’s anything I need to do further with this?

If some of this doesn’t make sense, get back to me please.
