Hello there :)

Sections 34 and 73, "One Trip Abroad," is PL OK for both parts 1 and 2. :ugeek: :ugeek:

PL Note: Section 35, "A Hotel Child," is very nice, except there is about a ten-second silence between the intro and the story.

Spot-work on some of the divided stories:

PL Note: Section 2, "Dice, Brass Knuckles, & Guitar, part 1" - at 0:23, it seems there should be a "Part 1" after the chapter name, and the existing intro sounds really smushed into the beginning of the actual story. Similarly, the ending sounds smushed into the end of the story at 23:54.

Section 74, "Dice, brass Knuckles, & Guitar, part 2" is PL OK :ugeek:

PL Note: Section 11, "Jacob's Ladder, part 1" - is still the full Jacob's Ladder story.

--------------

For what it's worth as a listener, if they fit in the time constraint, it's much better with these short stories to have them whole. I wasn't sure why the need arose to divide them, though, so perhaps I missed something operational.

It seems to me that someone who initially set this up as a group project divided long stories for unknown readers, not knowing if they would fit in the time, and perhaps also anticipating having difficulty getting people to volunteer for the long ones in one shot.

Maybe it's a pain, but will it be nicer to revert to the original whole-story files? Whatever you prefer, Adrian, I'm happy to do the spot-PL stuff. I'll be back for the others on another session. This snowstorm is starting up a migraine for me.

I assume these Pat Hobby stories are OK from a copyright point of view (that is, the only author is Fitzgerald). I don't see any information to the contrary. Then it's completely up to you! If you want to read them, I can do the word counts.
I prefer the whole stories myself. Is that okay with you Viktor if we revert to whole stories apart from the one that was very long?

Cool. I've pulled all the spot-PLs to double-check when I have a longer moment.

Lynette, sorry I forgot to say I have done all that in an email, but you've picked it up anyway. Thanks so much for your application 😊

hi Lynette, I really can't remember the story now it's so long ago since I read it! Anyway your proofreading has prompted me to say it's been awhile since I did some reading, life getting in the way, but I'll get back to it today. Watch this space 😊

On Section 38, "Emotional Bankruptcy," there is a repeated portion where it sounds like a voice notification had intruded - at 6:01-6:12.

While you're there, it might be nice to amplify the volume of the first part of the recording from the beginning to that point. :)

Hey, Adrian,

Pulling the current sections 38 and 39 from the MW, 38 holds the old file and 39 holds the fixed-38 file.

On the fixed file, at 6:01, if you'd like to add a little more pause between those sentences, the "Martin Munn, Lillian's escort..." won't sound smushed against the sentence ahead of it. (Since you'll be messing with the files, anyway 8-) )
