EN [abandoned] The Blue Castle, LM Montgomery - crow

Post by Elizabby »

The Blue Castle by Lucy Maude Montgomery (*1874 - † 1942)
A stand-alone novel by the author of "Anne of Green Gables", LM Montgomery weaves her romantic magic once again in this story of Valancy Stirling. One morning she receives news from her doctor that she is going to die soon. This changes how she sees herself, her life and other people. She decides she has had enough of "behaving properly" and scandalises her family with her subsequent "crazy adventures", one of which is to find out the identity of the mysterious "John Foster" the author of her favourite books....

Welcome to Legamus, Elizabby! :D
Sounds great. You want to do this as your first Solo here?
Do you have a DPL in mind?
I can be your MC, if you want.
Regards

I don't have a DPL, no. How does that work here? Do I need to put the ~ mark in the title, same as at Librivox?

Yes, it will be my first solo! I've done mostly dramatic works at Librivox, but I don't see enough people for that to work well here - although I'll think about it. The final Sherlock Holmes collection is PD here but not at Librivox, and I've done the others so maybe... ;)

Don't worry! We stay here for a few days, see if a DPL comes around. If not, I'll step in in the meantime. You don't have to adjust the title, we are less formal and somewhat more improvisating here.
Sherlock Holmes sounds also great.
But lets start with this first, 45 sections is pretty big, so lets do it first.
Drama work might be a bit difficult here, but we haven't tried yet. Who knows. :D

I start creating the MW now.

Edit: MW is up and running. PW via PM 8-)
you can start anytime now.

I love this book and have been thinking about reading it again for quite a while, so I'd love to DPL!

Re Drama projects, http://legamus.eu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=677 "Shall We Join The Ladies?" is the first and only one yet, slowly approaching completion! Even though it's moving slowly, I consider it a successful try :D

OK, straight after launching this I have come down with a terrible cold. (It's winter here in Australia and has been snowing! ) Anyway, if I run true to form I won't be in a condition to record for about 2-3 weeks. I have a very poor immune system and take a long time to recover from having a very husky voice! :?

Oh no! I hope you are feeling better soon :( I am the same way when I get sick, it takes a long time to get better. At least there is no rush to get this complete!

Oh, that is too bad ... shall we move this to abandoned projects instead of deleting it?

Sure, we can hang onto it. I might be able to come back to it in the future - it's just that I've agreed to narrate a 60 chapter book for LV and that's all my recording time committed in one swoop!
