[eng/SOLO] Short Stories I by F. Scott Fitzgerald - vik
Re: [eng/SOLO] Short Stories I by F. Scott Fitzgerald - vik
Hello Lynette, hello Adrian,
some time ago I tried to respond by PM and resend the password. Unfortunately I can't see any problem. Does one of you still experience any issue? Don't worry about editing, I have many backups in case anything really goes wrong.

Hi there, today it lets me sign in.

Hi, Adrian! Stories 4 and 6 are marked PL OK now.
On 8, Love in the Night, there is one escapee long pause still, at 2:57.
I'm part way through The Rich Boy (story 9) - Yeah, Checker will cough out a red flag on everything over 1 hour (but this file's specs are all in the green zone).
I don't know what the practice is here in Legamus; in LV, they want the file to be within 74 minutes simply because that's how much time will fit on a CD for those who burn the audiobooks into hard-copy.
If that's not an issue for Legamus, is there any other reason a story can't be 86 minutes long like this one? A question for Viktor.
If it needs to be divided into part 1, part 2, I can listen for a good breaking point if you'd like.

Story 9, The Rich Boy, is PL OK (assuming the length is fine)
Hey, I still get the flat line on Section 7. Also, when I click its playing link to try listening through Legamus instead of downloading it, the play-line shows the correct length, but there's no sound on it at all while it plays.

While the number of people listening on burnt CDs must be going steeply down... it might still be a good idea to split it into two. First, you may want to copy the project to LV when Fitzgerald is public domain in the United States. (though if that happens a very long time in the future, LV may have dropped the 74-minute limit by then...)
My other thought is that some apps or MP3 players are bad in keeping the current position when you stop listening. And the longer the file is, the longer it will take such a listener to find the spot where he left off. (The obvious counterexample would be 7-hour-long podcast episodes.)

Hi Viktor, I don't get email notification from Legamus. I see Notifications when I log into Legamus but I don't get an advisory in my own email when a message is waiting for me on Legamus. Is it not possible to get that? If it is, what is the email address it comes from? I'm thinking if I add that email address as a contact it could help me get notified that a message is waiting for me ...
Thanks,
Adrian

Hi Viktor,
i created a new line in the MW. Can you move it up to be underneath 11. Jacob's Ladder please (thus shifting down everything by one line)?

I moved that line in the MW.
About notifications - I try to reconfigure the e-mail setup, but I may need to contact my domain name provider as I cannot authenticate correctly.

I hope that e-mails work now. At least, until the forum wants to send too many. Then I'll have to look for another solution.

ermergerd, I've been one sick puppy for a while - picked up a nasty usually-childhood adenovirus from my grandson. Been many, many years since I've had that raging level of pink eye, flame-throat, and spewing-green-goblin-nose. and that was TMI
I've got everything pulled for attention in the next 2-3 days.

Poor guy. But, I mean, what else is going to happen, a pretty young actress surrounded by eager men in her work, and he's far away . . . ?
