Hello Hokuspokus,
Thank you!
I've added the first chapter to the MW:
http://upload.legamus.eu/simple/files/U ... sprigg.mp3

Perhaps a proof-listener will come along, hopefully. I'll first continue with recording.

Hello Anna,

This looks like an exciting book, and the author's Wiki page has intrigued me. I'm willing to DPL (I want to know what happens!), but I must warn you that I'll be a bit slow.

Are you reading from a hard copy? I didn't spot the novel on PG Canada or Australia, or Adelaide, and google very seldom displays properly for me.

Hello Erin,
That would be great, thank you! I don't need quick PL-ing - sometimes I post a few chapters in quick succession, but that is more because of sudden bursts of enthusiasm etc - no need to follow along at the same speed, there is no deadline!
Yes, I'm reading from a hardcopy. A successful visit to a bookshop when I visited Dublin 2 weeks ago - I have the morbid tendency always to check the year of death of an author I'm not familiar with. I haven't read the whole book yet, but I think it will be good if you like classic 'golden age' detectives.
I'll send you a PM with the password for the MW.

Hi Anna,

It's off to a good start! Chapter 2 is PL OK.

For chapter 1, there's a repetition at 18.20-18.28: 'a welcoming smile on her face'

Checking the year of death doesn't sound morbid. Or if it is, I do the same thing. I'm just waiting for a couple of authors to come into the public domain in the next five years!

There's nothing like browsing in a decent bookshop. I'm glad you spent your time in Dublin wisely. :D

Thanks for catching that repeat! I've snipped it out, and re-uploaded chapter 1.

I've also added chapter 3 & 4.

Chapter 5 is in the MW.

I also like the descriptions of the very primitive way of flying & everything around it, that was still so modern and adventurous at the time.

Chapter 5 is PL OK.

I'm enjoying it, too. I realise it might be an odd thing to say about a murder mystery, but it's really glamorous! Realistically I wouldn't want to go anywhere near a 1930s plane, let alone one trying any stunts, but the way this is described is so alluring.

Ooooooh, the plot thickens! I hadn't guessed about his wife.

6 and 7 are PL OK.

Sounds good!

I'm having a bit of trouble downloading. I'll try the time-honoured trick of turning it off and turning it back on again, but if it's still playing up, I might ask you to try uploading again at the weekend...

No, I have the same problem - it's weird.

This way directly they seem to work, but not when I put them in the MW...

Uffff. I don't know what happened there. With any luck, it will behave itself now!

8 and 9 are PL OK. I quite like the name Air Fairies - too bad it was changed!

10 and 11 ready for PL (and the link seems to be OK).

A lot of Frenchmen - but I've decided not to try to do a French-English accent, I wouldn't be able to do it consistently for this long, and it would become laughable.
