Kleine Inez by Reinier van Genderen Stort (*1886- †1942)

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://legamus.eu/blog/?p=854

I'd like to start a new solo in Dutch. This is a full-length novel.

The author's last name is "Van Genderen Stort".
I will be able to write a better summary after I've read the whole book.

Hello Anna,
Maybe, you will need a DPL to listen to this important book. I did not know Kleine Inez, but reading a few pages, I am interested to read and listen to the whole book, so, if ... then...
It seems to be a very long text, but in fact the pages are only half-filled, thus it is not sooo long.

Here are the first two sections, Herman. I've been PM-ing with Hokuspokus, because I'm having trouble to get into the MW - so for the time being, I'm going to post files in the thread, and at the bottom of the first post. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you Anna for the new PW. The first section is perfect. I am somewhat anxious about the development of the story.

Added section 4 and 5.

Thanks, Herman. I'm afraid the story is not very cheerful, no - but it has some beautiful descriptions.

Hello Anna,
I listened to the 5 sections. Apart from a detail in section 3. they are ok (and read with great sensitivity)

Hi Herman,
Thank you! I've fixed section 3 by recording the 2 sentences again - don't know exactly what happened, I expect I made a mistake during editing...
I've decided to leave the word in section 4 as it is.

And I've added 2 more sections for PL.

Hello Herman and Hokuspokus,
Best wishes for the new year!

I've added the final 3 sections to the MW. Herman, no hurry, there's no deadline.

I'll be working to improve the summary text.
Hokuspokus, I've tried my hand at a picture - first time I've done that... I'll PM you a dropbox link - could you take a look to see whether it would be OK?
Thank you both!

The cover is very nice!

But unfortunately I'm not so sure about the copyright. They don't tell who tuck the photo, so we can't be sure. Probably it comes from a private collection and was originally not meant to be published. In this case (original photographer dead for more then 70 years, picture published afterwards) the publisher gets 30 years exclusive usage. That's why they state so carefully that they have permission from several archives.

Have a look here: http://www.zeno.org/Zeno/0/Suche?&q=rhein&o=i
They have lots of pictures from the river Rhine, lots of old postcards from that time. Unfortunately only one from Arnhem (Arnheim) which would be way to old and wouldn't fit.

Hi Hokuspokus,

Well, I decided to travel to Arnhem today to make some photographs myself - I don't live very far away, just 15 min by train. It was a very wet, cold and grey day, but that fits with most of the book as a setting (and I have warmed & dried up again since I have got home ;) ). It was a nice adventure to walk through Sonsbeek park, through the city centre and along the Rijn quay, where the book is set a 100 years ago, searching for picture opportunities. Of course, much of the city centre is radically changed (especially after WWII bombardments), so I didn't want to use that.

In the end I've chosen this picture: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zgz14qadqtqs3 ... 2.jpg?dl=0
Probably only people from Arnhem & surroundings will recognize that it is indeed Arnhem, it is a view from Sonsbeek park - but I will know :) .
Of course I donate the photograph to the public domain. Is the technical quality good enough?
Thanks!
