Thanks Catrose. I was only thinking the other day as I come towards the end of a Librivox project that it was more than time I did a Legamus recording, so I'd like a part if poss. I've only skimmed through at the moment but how about Sir Joseph? If he turns out in a bit I haven't read yet to be about 18 then of course not but otherwise but would that be OK?

Here's Lady Jane:

Just a light noise clean, but no other process used.

Cat, I wasn't sure if the 'a' in Wrathie was pronounced as in 'lady' or 'rather', so I've given you a choice!
Please let me know if you would like any/all re-recorded.

Thank you for the opportunity :)

Carol

Edited to add: I'm sure I didn't do it - a pity there were no more acts. My innocence would have been proven :(

You're fast. I want to participate, too, but I first want to read the text :) I feel like in the good old days of school theatre!

In the meantime, I'm moving this to Readers Wanted.

Hi everyone,
I need everyone's opinions on two points. Number 1: who was the murderer? Number 2: Which of the ladies screamed (and, as I assume died) at the end? :)

Might take me some time until I get my next opportunity for recording. Meanwhile, I wonder: the editing effort with dramas is quite high. While this drama is not that long, there's constant interruption among the roles and by the narrator. Is there anything we can do to make it easier for the editor except leaving enough space for cutting?

For example, when I listen to and edit my role, I'm already logically separating the lines. Instead of just a single mp3 I could send a ZIP archive full of individual MP3 files or the Audacity project with each line in a single track (either as a "compressed copy" or as a ZIP file including all Audacity data files). Would any of this be any good? Did you experiment with such things at LV?

Hi Viktor,
The easiest thing is that the role is on one file (mp3 I use, though some LV editors prefer flac because they're uncompressed) with gaps of around 2 seconds between lines :)
Because I'm doing the narration myself, I can use that as my Master Track. I then label the roles that speak in between as I'm going along, using ctrl-b. That way, I can just copy and paste roles into roughly the correct place, then work on the silence between lines. It isn't that difficult or that time consuming once you get used to it. This will last for about half an hour, which should be no more than 3 hours of editing.

Ok, I have a question: Sound effects? LV has a ban on all sound effects. What are Legamus' rules? (If it has any?)

I would like to do Mrs. Bland, please. I'll take anything that will allow me to say "Namely, death" darkly. ;)
