Ah, I'd thought we'd just get asked to add disclaimers ourselves into the files at some point along the way, I hadn't spotted that the other thread resulted in a firm decision or I'd've done this ages ago. :D

Anyway, here's my two files, edited. When I did the original recording, I used 'title by author' as the heading, but that makes for repetition of DH's name with the above wording of the disclaimer, so I've removed the repetition (so the disclaimer is intact.) Hopefully it's all okay and sounds sensible.

Thanks, Viktor!

Good point. I had done the same, so I have also recorded the disclaimer into the recording and removed the repetition of the author's name.

This is the amended file, duration now 42:54:

Thank you, Cori and Ruth! Perfect, there's nothing left to do for me!

Sorry for the confusion, Algy and all readers - looks like it was me who confused "disclaimer edited in later" with "common disclaimer"... I'll PM the other readers so they can decide whether they record their own disclaimers.

I'm content with Algy's voice disclaiming my story. :P which is Section 16 - The Old Adam

I'm also happy to have Algy's common disclaimer in front of my reading.

...Me too, thank you Viktor.

But Algy, if you would rather we do our own, just say.

Regarding the disclaimer: it is entirely up to the individual reader whether he/she wishes to use the existing one or record their own.

Thank you for clarifying the situation, Viktor.

Thanks for inserting the disclaimer in my files Algy. I'm easy (just don't spread it around ;) )

Great, thank you all for your quick answers.
Tonight I'll prepare the catalogging. While we're waiting for the OK of the last reader, you can pre-view the catalog page, and then we can quickly publish.

Sorry for abandoning my duty as DPLer here. Legamus seems to be one of those things recently that I plan on 'doing', but never quite get around to 'doing'

I'm glad to see that this project is so close to completion though :)

Here we go. Password is just "legamus":

I took over your catalog names from LV. Please tell me if anything is wrong, or if you'd just like it differently.

Any more tags?

Regarding the publishing dates, there are three stories which would also fit on LV ("Her Turn", "Strike-Pay", and "The Mortal Coil"). While I don't want to suggest to split them off this project, maybe the readers want to consider putting them also into a LV collection, to give them to a maximum of potential listeners? I guess it would be necessary to upload the individual texts somewhere. I could put them on archive.org, if you want.

I'd be pleased to put "Strike Pay" onto LV in addition. :) Listening to it again, I can't believe I was brave enough to attempt that accent!

If Ruth would accept it for her LV Short Story collection I could upload my saved file.

Best wishes
Martin

By all means, Martin, as long as we are sure that the source is the same as the 1913 text.

No go, by the look of it. As far as I can discover, the story was first published in Sept 1913 in the Westminster Gazette in a censored form. It wasn't published again before 1934 in the collection A Modern Lover. Hrrmmph.

Thanks for checking. It's a pity, but we have to be so careful about these things.

So we cannot rely on the dates written in the PG Australia text? Bummer!

In that case, I'd better update the publication times on the catalog page to something vague like "published in their present form in 1934", and avoid to give years for the individual sections.

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page:

Congratulations!
