Re: Solo [EN] Argonauts of the Western Pacific, B.Malinowski

Yes, there is a limit for the subject line. You'll notice it by not being able to write more. One just has to be creative about where to abbreviate. I'd say that "Solo" is more important than the full title.

MW is set up, you should have write access.

Re: Argonauts of the Western Pacific by B. Malinowski

Argonauts is arguably the most "famous" book in the history of anthropology, and its influence on generations of anthropologists has been profound. ...says Wikipedia To my shame, I never heard the name Malinowski before. Sounds fantastic! Do you want to do it as a solo, Piotrek? or a grou...

And about the Magic Window - yes, it would be a Google doc, and it would be my duty to set it up. However, for solo projects we found that often it's not necessary.

If you wish, I create one. Or if you want to do it, go ahead.

Re: Solo [SLOVAK] Janko Hraško by Pavol Dobšinský

Hello MEDIAMATIKA&KD, if you already did the recording, then this won't matter much. But the one-minute-test that chocoholic recommended on LibriVox is actually very useful. I guess your recording is fine concerning technical quality (volume, background noise) - but if it isn't, it's very frustr...

Welcome Stanka! Thanks for joining us! "Being a PL here" just means that you say: "I'll proof-read". You already did that :) All you need to tell us is that the recordings are OK. How you get the files and when you correct them is completely up to you. We just need to know that t...

Reading this post of yours, I understand you found a PL? Great!

I move this thread to Readers Found. For uploading your files, you can use our own uploader. I'll send you a private message (PM) in the forum with the access data. In case that does not work, there is also http://ge.tt

Re: Solo [SLOVAK] Janko Hraško by Pavol Dobšinský

Ah, OK! For Legamus, it does not matter when the book has been published, as long as it's the original text and all authors/translators/editors have been dead for 70 years. So you're most welcome to publish Dobšinský's tales here. We're open to all life+70 countries. I just wanted to make sure that ...

Just a note - have a good look at the licenses of books and audiobooks. "Available on Youtube" is very different from being in the public domain or under a Creative Commons license, and between the Creative Commons licenses are big differences. It depends what you want to do with it. For c...

Thanks!

But one has to take a close look at each book and its author's life dates, some books are copyrighted.

Re: Solo [SLOVAK] Janko Hraško by Pavol Dobšinský

Hello and welcome to our first Slovak reader! That particular book might have been published in 1933, but if Dobšinský died in 1885 and it's not edited by someone else, it might be public domain in the US too and therefore compatible with LibriVox. If that's the case, I recommend you read it there. ...

As you would be aware the Zoom H4n does record to an SD card. If your computer does not have a built-in card reader, you can buy external USB connected card readers very cheaply. If you only use one single large SD card, one might be able to read it just by connecting the H4n via USB to the computer.

In that case, I'll put up the MW (which is just a spreadsheet on Google docs) and give both of you write access. Not wanting to neglect my MC duties! ;)

Just tell me how many sections. By the way, happy Easter!

I'll be the MC. As this is a solo, are you both fine without a MW? In other solo projects we found it not really necessary. Of course, if you feel it would be better, you can have it anytime.

As an alternative to ge.tt, you can also use our own uploader.

Moving to Readers Found.
