Re: Eng[Solo] Within a Budding Grove by Proust - hok
Hi Section 10 PL OK. - And another section to look forward to! Thanks for the Dickens info. I also noted at the time of reading Our Mutual Friend that a later Veneering chapter (17) has a Lady Tapkins whose calling-card reads " Wednesdays . At home. Music." I never would have connected Cha...

Re: Eng[Solo] Within a Budding Grove by Proust - hok
Hi David
You need to edit out a repeat on Section 7:
@28:10 - phrase beginning "which reminds me..."
Otherwise no problems.
Regards
Martin

Re: Eng[Solo] Within a Budding Grove by Proust - hok
Hi I didn't mean a fault with the actual recording - I was just a bit puzzled that the filenames on the spreadsheet that serves as a Magic Window seemed to be the same for the last two sections. I don't really understand how the spreadsheet is operated, so I may be misleading you there. Perhaps our ...

Hi
The DPL-ing's going nicely, but I need to get a feel for sending a file on legamus.
So can I please claim Section 12 - Strike Pay?
All the best

Re: Eng[Solo] Within a Budding Grove by Proust - hok
Section 4 now marked PL OK.
There seems to be a discrepancy with the naming of the files on the google docs spreadsheet (?) - I can't myself fix it, but perhaps you will ne able to.

Hi
You have repeated the opening of a sentence at 05:22 -
from "Oh sir," to how much I admired them. Otherwise PL all OK.

Re: Eng[Solo] Within a Budding Grove by Proust - hok
Hi
Edit passed and Section 3 now marked PL OK on s/sheet.
Yes I take that line, but only as far as Guildford; usually on the 07:26 or 07:35 out of Haslemere. I think of it as a commute because I have a 20-minute+ walk either end. I ache to retire.

Hi
Section 3 - Edit needed. At 25:14 you made a couple of false starts at the sentence beginning: "Among the people to whom this sort of marriage appeared ridiculous...".
All else OK.

Section 3 uploaded: http://dl.free.fr/r4BLt4M9Q 42.8Mb 46.47mins. By the way, I've heard that Neville Jason is currently recording Remembrance of Things Past unabridged for Naxos (he's already done an excellent abridged version). I mostly enjoyed his abridged version. Best thing in it for me was hi...

Hi
Section 01 and 02 passed PL all OK, and signed off on spreadsheet (still seems strange).
Enjoyed your supple reading of those great waves of sentences.

Hi Andrew
I'd be pleased to DPL. I've been a recidivist reader of Proust since my teens. (Writing this about 150 metres from the Hampshire border, by the way.)

Re: Welcome everybody!
Hi
Finally got here; too tired to think of anything arresting to say.
Not too tired to think of a whole armful of books I couldn't record for Librivox... but as Ruth says, it's having the time!
Hope to contribute soon, even if it's tentative at first.
Best to everyone, and goodnight -
