Section 3 uploaded.
Let me know if you would prefer me to get another proof-listener, HP. I know you are very busy.

I wrote that last summer, but then blew up a couple of computers, so I am well behind. It is now underway.

Re: Solo[ENGLISH] Casebook of Sherlock Holmes by Conan Doyle
I should be delighted if you would, HP, as long as it is OK with you. Standard PL will be fine. There are a couple of typos in the Gutenberg.au text anyway, so I had to check with other sources.

Re: Solo[ENGLISH] Casebook of Sherlock Holmes by Conan Doyle
Thank you, HP!
Section 01 uploaded. I have split the first story into two parts, as it was a bit of a squeeze to make the whole thing less than 74 minutes, and also there was a smashing cliff-hanger at a suitable spot in the middle.

Ah, thank you! That is good to know.
I can now edit the MW. Now for the fun stuff. (Puts on smoking jacket, lights pipe, and prepares to be the illustrious Mr. Holmes...)

Re: Solo[ENGLISH] Casebook of Sherlock Holmes by Conan Doyle
Thank you, HP! :) I don't know if I have a Google ID, to be honest. I certainly use Google docs, but I never understand the way Google works. I am PMing you the email address I use for Google docs. I had been meaning to ask about track numbers. I see in the MW that Section 0 should be Track 0, but I...

Re: File hosting, distribution and storage
Has any recent approach been made to the European Archive? I notice that a lot has changed there, and discovered this page: http://www.europarchive.org/hostyourcollection.php They have a Media | Recordings section which currently only has Public Classical Music. I should think it is worth trying aga...

Many thanks, Viktor.
It isn't really poetry - poetic prose, but certainly prose. I thought non-fiction, or philosophy.

Part 2: http://ge.tt/9O52jHC?c
Size: 40.8 MB
Duration: 44:35
The original file was too bad. Noise-cleaning made it sound too thin, so I re-recorded it, and I have had it proof-listened.
That is, I promise you, finally the end of The Prophet.

Re: First book ready-now what?
Viktor, I meant to reply, but then my computer died and I have been struggling to get an old one working well enough to do anything. I meant to say that I didn't mean to cause any offence about the compressed file - I was just looking for a solution that would offer the best quality in the smallest ...

Re: First book ready-now what?
Never mind, I listened myself. Silly me. I hadn't realised that it was to be offered as a 64 mbps download. I would have made a copy of the Audacity file and resampled at 22 KHz, and exported from that as a 64 kbps MP3. I find that this yields far superior quality, really quite hard to distin...

Re: First book ready-now what?
What does the 64 kbps sound like? I know that Iambik had difficulty with quality at first when they converted 44KHz sample rate files to 64kbps MP3.
