Good to have you here, Basquetteur! I don't know much about the cover process here, but I am always really happy to get covers for my books. :D

Re: Glad to meet you!

Welcome, nasar_peace :D The books we record here are all in the public domain in Life+70 countries, so I've moved your post to our 'general topics' area.

That works -- and it looks great! No, no name needed on the cover. :D Thank you for all your time Julia (and thanks in advance, Viktor!)

Re: solo [ENGLISH] Orlando by Virginia Woolf

And the rest is done. :D Could you please change 'gentleman' to 'nobleman' in the description. I muddled the classes. :? Also, I realised that I've mis-typed some of the ID3 tags ... I put 'pt' instead of 'part' for chapter 3 (I think, maybe chapter 2 too.) Is that something you can easily change, J...

Re: solo [ENGLISH] Orlando by Virginia Woolf

Thankyou! I'm working on chapter 4 now, three parts of the four are ready to go.

Edited later: Finished chapter 4, complete with correctly pronounced 'benignity' (you learn something new every day ;)) and a nice little chapter 5.

Re: solo [ENGLISH] Orlando by Virginia Woolf

Great start, everything is PL:OK :) Yay, thankyou! I just realized that this is my first book by Woolf... finally... I have had her on my "to-read-list" for ages :D Oooh, I hope you enjoy it! It's not as 'serious' as some of them. Though that may be a disadvantage, depending on your taste...

Re: Archy and Mehitabel

Hi Peter! No problem about the gap, I've been on something of a slow-down too. I developed unhealthy habits about how I record and edit, and currently have 5 projects on the go (none of them far enough along to have an official thread made either here or at LV.) I need to focus more. But yes, I'd st...

Re: Have a good 2015 !

I like the idea of recording the "Jataka Tales" by Noor Inayat Khan very much! I'd be up for that. :D It's such a coincidence, I saw her name for the first time just a few hours ago. The BBC World Service recently aired a documentary about her war work. I've downloaded but not yet listene...

Re: Feedback - wanted and unwanted

Agree with Like or Thumbs ups. And agree with caution about 'thankyou' messages. Not all of the ones that LibriVox receives are nice, as J_N says. Sometimes they're plain mean, and sometimes they're nastily nice like ... "you did a great job with this book despite totally mispronouncing every F...

Re: Publicizing Legamus

A few LibriVox recordings get lots of hits on YouTube :D  I think it's worth doing DailyMotion, as another way to be seen and heard. Best not to expect too much from it, but sometimes these things do take off. For example, it might be tagged as a language learning resource (especially if someo...

Re: Publicizing Legamus

No, I think that would be overdoing it. LV has always tried to be friendly to ALL other audio projects, so promoting one over all others wouldn't be fair.

(Also, for reference, our books are not public domain in Mexico, Colombia and some other places. It's not just the US.)

Re: Publicizing Legamus

Also, Cori you wrote that my idea was good but then you immediately started writing about Wikipedia which makes me wonder if I expressed myself clearly :) My plan was to contact those webzines, websites, etc. that have spoken favourably of LV in the past and tell them about Legamus. Do you think LV...

Re: Publicizing Legamus

That's a good thought, Piotrek. If there are several external references in the article, I think They are much less likely to delete it. They do like their little footnotes. We went through exactly the same process with LibriVox 5-6 years ago. It's taken that long, but LibriVox actually has its own ...
