Re: solo [ENGLISH] The Guermantes Way by Marcel Proust - vik

Section 04 is PL OK. I've had to look up a couple of words in this section, which is always a nice bonus. I just hope I remember them, even if they are hard to slip into daily usage!

Re: group [ENGLISH] After Long Silence by William Butler Yeats - jn

HURRAH! It's always something to celebrate when technical problems are resolved. Viktor, thank you so very much for doing whatever poking and prodding needed to be done behind the scenes to get it back on track. I have a question, though this is not urgent - is there any reason the MW should have be...

Re: solo [ENGLISH] The Guermantes Way by Marcel Proust - vik

Sections 00-03 are PL OK. Your patches sound terrific. That's something I always struggle with, and I'm impressed when other readers can get a seamless correction worked in. You've really relieved my mind regarding the pronunciation. If you've not worked together much, or recently, it's always a bit...

Re: solo [ENGLISH] The Guermantes Way by Marcel Proust - vik

That was quick! Section 03 is PL OK. I have one note that I'm leaving here so I remember it for later - in the tags, the track title and album title ('Section 03' and 'The Guermantes Way') have been reversed. This is not a problem as it's something that can be checked and adjusted at cataloguing. Ho...

Re: group [ENGLISH] After Long Silence by William Butler Yeats - jn

Hi Barbara and Peter, First of all, I'm sorry this is giving you so much trouble. This was meant to be a relatively straightforward exercise! As neither of you have had any luck at all with the uploader I've asked one of the admins to check it and see if there's something on that end causing glitche...

Re: group [ENGLISH] After Long Silence by William Butler Yeats - jn

Don't assume it's you. Just because the kit works 98% of the time doesn't mean it doesn't have funny fits every now and then! I'm not certain what the uploader is up to. It sounds as if it's doing most of what it ought to do, but I'm not certain why it isn't showing you the link beyond just being pi...

Re: solo [ENGLISH] The Guermantes Way by Marcel Proust - vik

There's one PL note for section 02: please make sure you have at least half a second at the beginning of the recording to avoid it being cut off by some tricksy players.

I really don't know Proust terribly well, but I'm enjoying the chance to listen to his rhythms.

Re: solo [ENGLISH] The Guermantes Way by Marcel Proust - vik

I have one PL note each for sections 00 and 01, and it's the same for both sections. It's that the opening silence is quite short. Could you please extend it to half a second or a full second? I believe that that was instituted at Librivox because some players clip the very beginning or end of track...

Re: group [ENGLISH] After Long Silence by William Butler Yeats - jn

Hi Ian, First out of the gate! Thank you very much for your version. I like it (and it's PL OK!). I also just saw that you've been here for a year now. I can't believe the last Yeats project has already been a year... Thank you for asking about the tags. You're absolutely right, that was my mistake ...

No problem at all. I've downloaded section 14, but I just wanted to check in and let you know I probably won't get going until the weekend.

Re: group [ENGLISH] After Long Silence by William Butler Yeats

Hi! First person to reply, so that's a start! You're right, it is pretty quiet round here. However, there are some Yeats enthusiasts out there, and I'm hoping a one-off late-career poem will prove tempting. I could be wrong of course, but it might also be the case that some members simply don't stop...

Re: solo [ENGLISH] The Guermantes Way by Marcel Proust - vik

I'm posting to say that I'm willing to be DPL. I'm leaving later in the week on trip for work, but I should start properly PLing once I've returned.

Re: group [ENGLISH] After Long Silence by William Butler Yeats

A note for the MC: this is an experiment in much the same vein as the weekly and fortnightly poetry projects on LV. I don't know how many readers will fancy recording a version of the poem, but it's worth trying! I've slightly tweaked the info on the tags and intro/outro - please let me know if I ne...

Hi Viktor,

I like it! When I saw your message I wasn't sure what to expect, but I think you're being hard on yourself. It looks really good - thank you very much for creating it!

Re: PD in 2019

I would like to point out that The Great Gatsby is PD in Europe or countries with life + 70, while it is not in the US. Therefore librivox won't do it, but you can :) Hello Michaelwy, There's some good news! Martin Reyto has already recorded The Great Gatsby, so you can start listening this weekend...
