Both uploaded, but one has been waiting over an hour for the antivirus scan - is this normal? And can I close the browser before it does it?

All done, but I won't upload until the disclaimer/outro thing is settled.
EDIT: Oh, I see that Andy has uploaded his, so I will too.

Re: Ten books
I think it's something to do with the fact that it was published posthumously, Algy. Though, for the life of me, I can't find any reference to posthumous works in UK government legislation or the UK Copyright Service website.
Please, if anyone knows where it is, do tell!

Re: Templates, tech specs and so on
We will also need to insert the track number in the metadata ourselves - this is done automatically at LV.

Re: Domain name
I don't do Skype myself, but don't let that interfere with things. But for the record, I prefer Legamus because I like to avoid any potential legal pitfalls. I get a lot of visits on my blog where I have a list of "British" sounding readers - it's one of the most popular pages. (Many Briti...

Re: Templates, tech specs and so on
I don't know, but I would feel more comfortable separating the two, as I record for both. And I like Legamus. (We will soon become well-known, you know!)

Re: Templates, tech specs and so on
It was on eBay, I believe, but I don't know whether they picked it up from that or direct from the site. It was before my time. These copyright enforcement people do web searches as a matter of course, and send out cease and desist letters all over the place.

Re: Templates, tech specs and so on
The problem with the AC estate was that the domain was first registered in Canada, where AC was and still is under copyright, and at that point the domain was still owned personally by a Canadian. The files themselves were by that time hosted in the US and US PD status was conceded by the complainan...

Re: Templates, tech specs and so on
The other side of the coin is that, if we use this restriction for very popular books that are not PD in the US, we might not get the same hassle with those as when some non-US commercial party would make big money on it and thus catch the attention of some US commercial party who does not like tha...

Re: Templates, tech specs and so on
Well, personally, I should prefer a CC license. I have already seen people do lots of things with my recordings and it hasn't bothered me. But as my quality has improved (and is now regarded as more or less professional), there is a serious danger that some corporation may pick them up and sell them...

Re: Templates, tech specs and so on
Does it have to be the same for all recordings? I have to admit that I am particularly bothered about The Prophet , because it is immensely popular in the US. The Prophet is in its 163rd printing and has sold over 100 million copies[4] since its original publication in 1923.[5] The Prophet is consis...

Re: Templates, tech specs and so on
I have always thought that the LV disclaimer "This recording is in the Public Domain" is highly ambiguous, and would far prefer it to state "This recording is in the Public Domain in the USA ". I personally would like to say something like: "The author of this text died more...

I've taken out the bit about the translator, because there wasn't one. It was originally written in English.

Re: Solo [ENGLISH] The Prophet by Khalil Gibran
Yes, of course. Thank you! It doesn't have any chapters actually - it is just a case of finding a suitable place to split into two sections. (It's only 12,000 words.)

Re: Solo [ENGLISH] The Prophet by Khalil Gibran
Hmmm.... it's a bit hard isn't it? There are so many other things I should be doing. But this is half-recorded already. It's a very addictive little book.

ADOPTED [ENGLISH] The Prophet by Khalil Gibran
It occurs to me that this is also out of copyright in Death+70 countries. The Prophet (published 1923) Author: Khalil Gibran (1883 – 1931) On Project Gutenberg Australia at http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks02/0200061h.html and I think that perhaps I shall do this beautiful little book first. ADOPTED [ENGLISH] The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes
I think that my first will be:
The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes (published 1927)
Author: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859 – 1930)
On PG Australia at http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks01/0100291.txt
It won't be any time soon though. Probably early autumn.
