Re: Solo [Eng] A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf - hok

Thanks, Dii -- I'm uploading an extra 5 secs of quiet now :D Though, that's pretty boring for you to listen to, so I'm popping Section 2 up as well! Will take ages to upload, but should be in the ge.tt folder eventually. http://ge.tt/1btiXDJ [P.S. Dear people reading: if you want to check that link ...

Re: Publicizing Legamus

1. making sure that Legamus is mentioned in all relevant web searches LOL ... SEO, in other words. Of course; but the question we're asking in this thread is how. 4. give me the M4B audiobook subforum I requested and spread the word via (professional) quality M4B audiobooks. You could start a threa...

Re: Publicizing Legamus

June is Audiobook Month (so someone hath declared) ... so perhaps we can springboard from that a little ... a bit more blog activity, perhaps, if we're using it for news as well as cataloguing? Philosophy, reader interviews, author bios, that sort of thing. Do we have a Legamus twitter account? Dail...

Re: Solo [Eng] A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf - hok

Section 1 is just uploading to ge.tt. I've forgotten tags (or at least, I put them in, then futzed with the volume and they were overwiped) ... but will do that at the end, so they're all nicely synced. Should be at http://ge.tt/1btiXDJ in about 10 mins from time of posting this. :) 47:34 -- one of ...

Re: [English] Persuasion

I don't quite understand this, scout ... the aim of Legamus is to get Life + 70 public domain books recorded, as many times as people want to do them. What does specifically recruiting Brits (and there's quite a few of us here, relatively) have to do with it? I agree that it's likely that there'll b...

COMPLETE [Eng] A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf - hok

A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://legamus.eu/blog/?p=153 This feminist essay argues for both a literal and figural space for women writers within a literary tradition dominated by patriarchy. Firs...

Re: Domain name

I'm happy with Legamus or LibriVox.eu. Re. the subtitle / motto / mission statement / tagline ... something that translates well would be nice (I know, difficult to arrange.) Some other ideas: Giving books voices Recording books for the public domain Free audiobooks, by volunteers, for you We make f...

Re: Sponsored server?

Makes sense to me, Viktor.

It also makes counting up the works more fun ... we could say "let's start approaching sponsors when we have 50 works completed," or something.

Re: Forum guidelines?

I'd suggest letting the guidelines grow as needed, rather than trying to put too much in place to start with. It worked well for LibriVox. :) The catalogue could be as simple as a blog, for the moment, since we could use tags for author & narrator info, etc. which makes it searchable in lots of ...
