Hello Filippo,
I hope the text source is PD and therefore usable. If that's the case, I have a suggestion: It looks like nearly all stories have been published before 1923, so you could do all those stories on a LibriVox collection. You will have better infrastructure and more people, you will ...

Re: ~[ITALIAN] Novelle per un anno vol. 7 di L. Pirandello
I found this ad-riddled site, and I'm not sure about its status:
http://www.pirandelloweb.com/novelle/1924_tutte_tre/01.1913_tutte_tre.htm
On the one hand, it seems to be the verbatim text; on the other hand, someone who knows Italian would want to check the disclaimer, which looks a bit suspicious ...

Re: Authors who entered the public domain in 2012
I think that would be a "revised edition", or anything that contains another editor, that you want to avoid.

Re: [English] Persuasion
Hello scout,
I think we have different ideas about this web site. When one approaches British or other LibriVox readers, the wording is very important. I'd neither want to "persuade" nor to "coax" someone into Legamus; all I want is to raise awareness that _if_ a reader in a life+70 country wishes ...

Re: File hosting, distribution and storage
Again good news from ge.tt - looks like a suggestion of mine got implemented: if you upload several files, they add a link "Download all" that gives you a ZIP. In other words, you don't have to upload the ZIP separately. The full 3 GB can be used for recordings, without duplicates. And one can ...

True, it looks better than few months ago, when they were still explaining in their FAQ that they don't host non-institutional content!

Great, finally it's not only me who is picky!
Thanks a lot Hokuspokus, I corrected everything. Nadine, we have a template among the "posts", it was my fault of being too liberal with it (and too strict with this thread's first post). Some stuff I just didn't see - the red colour mysteriously ...

Cataloged! Tell me whether the text, taken from the first post, is OK for the catalog too, and I remove the password (which is "legamus").

Edit: Installed a Wordpress plug-in for excluding password-protected pages from the main page.

Happy New Year from me too !
And the shift of the year is happy for us* indeed, as new texts enter the life+70 public domain: Rabindranath Tagore (already in the Indian life+60 PD), Virginia Woolf... and let's not forget translators, there's a couple of German Edgar Wallace translations :-)

Catalog blog
Now that I have a closer look at the first work in the catalogue, shouldn't we add systematically to each post our disclaimer "This text is in the public domain and this recording is under the CC0 license in many European and other countries that follow the life+70 principle. Please verify the ...

Re: First book ready-now what?
With our own server anything is possible. It's just that, for the moment, it would be a bit over-dimensioned. Once we gain some momentum, it will be there, in one way or the other!
Allow me to quote myself ;)

Re: First book ready-now what?
You can do the upload, too! The nice Legamus link is provided by the Link Resolver, that's the one piece of the meta tools that is already working. I sent you the link and the access codes. In some months, I hope it's the Finisher tool which will check volume and tags before one of us does the ...

Re: First book ready-now what?
We haven't talked about that yet as far as I remember: I think we should put the files in one zip for the download. Much easier to maintain.
I suggest we have both: One ZIP file and individual files. Single files make sense because people might just want to "listen in", and some freehosters like ...

Exactly my opinion ;)
I just re-uploaded Ruth's original 128 kbps files, without any of my "vandalism". A ZIP file and two individual MP3s are available under the old links
http://legamus.eu/link/Khalil_Gibran-The_Prophet/complete (89 MB)

Re: File hosting, distribution and storage
Good news from http://ge.tt - if one has a free account there, they give you now 2 or 3 GB and the files do not expire. As long as we do not have tons of recordings, this looks very good.

And I uploaded it to ge.tt, they have a nice English interface, and one can either download the file or listen directly. (Free.fr is still an excellent site for temporary files or French recordings.)

Congratulations from me as well! Thanks Piotr and everyone involved!
I replaced the blog link with this nicer version
http://legamus.eu/link/Boleslaw_Prus-Widziadla
that I can keep up-to-date when the freehoster changes.

Re: Polish
Given that it was published posthumously, I assume that IT IS important in that case. I imagine that the "death+" rule becomes "publication+" for such a piece of writing?
That depends on the country. In some European countries, maybe most of them, a posthumous work which is published _until ...

Re: The symbolist Movement in Literature, Symons 1919
Published (in the better version) in 1919 => that's before 1923, so it should be on LibriVox.
As the author died less than 70 years ago, it is even completely impossible for Legamus. ;) This work is not in the public domain in life+70 countries, only in the US and possibly in some (former) life+50 ...
