Re: solo [ENGLISH] The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath by H. P

Somehow I never got round to reading any of the "Dream Cycle" stories. I'd be happy to PL this.

Well, HPL definitely wasn't a master at making his protagonists sound convincing or natural ;)

Re: GROUP/ENG Selected Short Stories by H. P. Lovecraft v.3

I'd like to do "The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath" as a solo, if I may. If there's no objection, I'll go ahead and launch it in the appropriate section in the usual way (he says, never having done it before  ) No objection from me, that's for sure ;) Go forth and record that, just don't forge...

Re: GROUP/ENG Selected Short Stories by H. P. Lovecraft v.3

Shall we launch pt. 4 after this one is closed? Oh yes! If you're up for it, I think it's nice to have a Lovecraft project in progress until all the available short stories are covered! That's one vote in favour ;) I'll probably do away with "2 sections tops" restriction though because most stories...

Anyway, this one has filled up very fast. :) Shall we launch pt. 4 after this one is closed?

[GER] Threnodien by Jan Kochanowski

Hi. I was browsing a site with Polish-language texts, when I noticed a German translation of "Treny" ("Threnodies"), a famous cycle of 16th century poems by Jan Kochanowski, an outstanding Polish poet who wrote this work to mourn the death of his little daughter. The poems were translated in the lat...

Re: GROUP/ENG Selected Short Stories by H. P. Lovecraft v.3

I thought about reading "The Descendant" but it turned out that the story is unfinished.
Same with "The Book" (EDIT: I edited Rapunzelina's list to make people aware that some stories are unfinished).

I'll read "The Evil Clergyman".

Re: GROUP/ENG Selected Short Stories by H. P. Lovecraft v.3

@Rapunzelina I added you. I thought about reading "The Descendant" but it turned out that the story is unfinished. Which is a pity, because the surviving fragment has many makings of an interesting story. By the way has any of you noticed how Lovecraft always makes a point of how rare a book "The Ne...

Re: Multilingual Short Work Collection - vik

I'm more worried that they don't list the translator. At least I couldn't see one for Dauthendey. If you're referring to wolnelektury then the translator of Dauthendey's pieces (Stefan Napierski) is mentioned when you get to the text of the particular poem. The problem is that to get there you have...

Re: Multilingual Short Work Collection - vik

Cataloguing the collection is a good idea, certainly a better one than letting it sit here endlessly. :) As for the question whether it makes sense to start next volume, I can't really say much. Until recently I was basing my Polish text searches on just one site where I was unable to find much that...

Re: SOLO [EN] The Square Egg by Saki - hok

Sorry for the delay in PLing. Reading-wise and format-wise (intro and outro) all's OK. There's one thing though which I can't understand. When listening to "Clovis on the Alleged Romance of Business" on headphones I can only hear it through one channel. Can anyone listen to it and say what they hear?

mreyto wrote: in the MW for volume 3, could you please switch the stories around so that "The Temple" is Section 1 and "The Moon Bog" is Section 2? I've already recorded the stories in that order, and this would get me out of having to re-record the intros ;)

Cheers,
